Being Fair

"It's not fair! Not fair!"

I hear that a lot in school whenever someone loses in a competition or something like that. I say that, too. But I know this: Life is NEVER fair.

In all those games we play, there are always rules, mainly for the purpose of being fair. But how about LIFE?

Someone might get something you want. Someone might be more or less successful than you. does that matter?

Being content, we will never need any fairness in this world. If we are satisfied with what we have and grateful for it, we don't need to worry whether it is fair or not... unless what we are satisfied about is against someone else.

What about when it comes to YOUR turn to being fair? How do you deal with it when, for example, two of your little siblings want cake, and there are three pieces? In this situation, it's easy: give them a cake and a half each. But you see, we don't have to fuss over small matters like this. If one of your siblings is willing to give up their share of cake, it will seem fair no matter what, because they're satisfied.

What, in life, do we think fair and unfair?
